It is a matter of shame indeed, when officers stake claim over goods in airports. As if prying into the commuters bags wasn’t enough, demanding a share in the goods that are evidently expensive is enough to irk many a traveller. When goods are legally checked and transported across borders, don’t you think customs charges should be relaxed, considering the amount of corruption that it is allowing to breed in international airports?
