Thiruvananthapuram, April 25 (IANS) Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan met officials here on Tuesday, a day after the Supreme Court told his government to reinstate T.P. Senkumar as the police chief.

Vijayan met both legal experts and leaders of the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) on what needs to be done.

According to informed sources, a final decision was expected at the weekly cabinet meeting to be held here on Wednesday.

While some wanted the state government to file a revision petition in the apex court, others advised that it would be counter productive.

The decision to remove Senkumar as Director General of Police was taken on the day Vijayan assumed office on May 25, 2016.

The government then claimed that he was moved out for poor performance over the manner he handled the Puttingal Devi temple cracker blast and the Jisha murder cases.

Senkumar is set to retire on June 30.
