Hyderabad, May 23 (IANS) BJP President Amit Shah said on Tuesday that the Bharatiya Janata Party-led NDA has provided corruption-free and transparent governance in the country during the last three years.

Addressing a news conference in Nalgonda on Tuesday, on the second day of his three-day visit of Telangana, he said even the political opponents could not make a single allegation of corruption against the NDA government.

Shah said the NDA took over reins of power on May 26, 2014, following several corruption scandals during the UPA rule. There was policy paralysis, borders were insecure, youths were angry and there was sense of insecurity among women.

Listing out the achievements of the Modi government, he claimed that the growth rate which was stagnant at 4.4 per cent rose to 7.25 per cent and further to 7.6 per cent, making India the fastest growing economy in the world.

He claimed that the inflation came down, Gross Domestic Product (GDP) went up, Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) increased, and there was record jump in foreign reserves.

Shah said the surgical strikes against Pakistan projected India as a strong nation and the launch of 104 satellites with one launch vehicle made it a global leader in space technology.

The BJP chief said several schemes launched by the Modi government in three years helped uplift the poor and other sections of the society.

He said bank accounts of 28 crore families were opened under Jan Dhan scheme, loans were provided to small traders under Mudra scheme, and a solution was found to one rank one pension scheme which was hanging fire for 40 years.

Shah referred to the steps taken to check black money, to seize property of enemies of nation, and to come down heavily on shell companies.

Shah said in all the elections held during last three years, the BJP improved its performance and came to power in most of the states. He said the BJP with 13 chief ministers and NDA governments in four states was ruling 60 per cent of the land area of the country.

"We have election alliance with Telugu Desam Party in Andhra Pradesh," he remarked while evading a direct reply to whether the BJP will have alliance with the TDP in Telangana too.

Reiterating that the BJP was strengthening itself in Telangana with the goal to come to power in 2019, he said the party was emerging as strong alternative political force in the state.

Stating that the Modi government had provided an additional Rs one lakh crore to Telangana during the past three years, he targeted Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government for its failure to take the central schemes to people.

On Telangana's move to increase reservations for Muslims from four per cent to 12 per cent, Shah said the BJP was opposed to religion-based reservation and termed the move as unconstitutional.
