I am sorry, but there was absolutely no need for you to pay a bribe. All you had to do was to make a complaint to the MD BESCOM. All of us have alibis to somehow justify paying bribes. In your case, you say you did not have a choice, because you had to complete your construction. But you did have a choice! You could have resisted and fought out the matter. A large number of citizens have done this and reported their experiences on 'i didn't pay a bribe'.



This will not come to an end if individually, each one of us continues to pay bribes. Holding a candle, or supporting the struggle to end corruption will not do. You cannot outsource the battle against corruption. You will have to go through the experience yourself. Only then, will corrupt public servants feel the heat.



Please take a vow never to pay a bribe in the future.
