We had our police verification for passport re-issue. Me and my in laws. All three of us had gone to the police station to submit documents and sign on the forms. When the whole process was over, he asked my father in law for money. He asked directly, no beating around the bush stuff. He asked for Rs 200 per verification. I have to confess I am guilty of not fighting or arguing. But it was hard for me, as I only realised a little later after the money was given, that he had asked for a bribe!
