Drunk Driving

Reported on March 7, 2017 from Bangalore , Karnataka  ι Report #156718

This incident happened on the night of 16/09/2016, (1:00AM, technically 17/09/2016) opposite the BTM Layout Petrol Bunk. I was returning from Indiranagar after a pint of beer, I didn't drink more and I didn't drink less. I had a pint. I was stopped by a Traffic Police Officer who put his mouth close to mine (seemed as if he'd kiss me) and asked me to blow, I was shocked. Is this the way a breathalyzer test is taken? Then, the same police officer suggested me to take the breathalyzer test. The breathalyzer showed my reading as 98. I mentioned to the officer that the reading is wrong and the machine is not working properly since the Breathalyzer doesn't show 98 for a pint, for which the officers started abusing me saying that a machine can never be wrong and that it has been tested by the government. I kept insisting that the machine is faulty and that I can do the other tests required for 'drunk and drive', I was scolded for that. I have to travel 30 kms daily to work, and without a bike, the amount of time it takes for me to reach office increases to 2.5 hours. Nevertheless, I was handed a 'Traffic Police Notice Form'; and was told that I was supposed to appear in the court. I asked for the address of the court since the form only mentions "Hence, you are hereby directed to appear before the Hon'able CJM Bangalore Rural on 26/09/2016 at 11:00AM for above mentioned violation without fail."
I requested the inspector to provide me the address for which I was initially told "Mayo Hall, MG Road", and then again I was told "Melkote Court". I waited for almost one and a half hour, trying to get atleast some amount of correct information, for which I was scolded too.

Two days (Saturday & Sunday) later, I went to the Traffic Police Station in BTM Layout for the same information; the Officer (Mr.Balasubramanium) asked me to pay 3,500 INR if I wanted my bike back. I paid the amount, got my bike keys, realised that the petrol (which was supposed to be over half a tank) was stolen from the bike and was brought to reserve.
