Age No Bar To Pay a Bribe
Getting exposed to rampant corruption and impropriety even before stepping into the professional world can be daunting for a youngster. Even though citizens across all age groups do know what corruption is, only a first-hand experience serves as a lesson in understanding the magnitude of such a social evil. This young citizen from Chennai who is studying to be a chartered accountant had his first brush with corruption when he was assigned to register a client’s VAT account. His attempts to skirt the prospect of paying a bribe, invited more trouble and burnt a bigger whole in his clients pocket. Not an ideal situation any youngster would want to be involved in, don’t you think? More importantly, not an ideal picture of the country to paint for our future citizens.
