Congrats!!! You have just won a plot!

If this is the message or call that often calls out to you on your phones, steer away from it. Might sound exciting but beware before you step into this muddle of fake promises.
One such victim from Tiruchirappalli (Tamil Nadu) got a call supposedly from a famous resort in the country informing him that he had been selected for a free plot worth Rs 50, 000 in Chennai.
The respondent and his wife reached the resort and were coaxed into becoming members there. This appeared pretty simple to both and they agreed. Later, they were asked to be a part of the holiday resort accommodation for 5 years by paying Rs 60,000. They were assured of membership after this.
They fell for this bait and paid up. Later, they were asked to pay another Rs 50,000 as fee for documents to procure the plot. Apart from this, they were asked to pay annual maintenance fee for the club. The plot was finally handed over to them but registered as a gift deed. The land cannot be used or sold. Another respondent from Ernakulum (Kerala) recounted a similar tale. It is time gullible people wake up to this exploitation.
