On corrupt corporates
The Central Vigilance Committee has resurrected an old debate by recommending that corporates should be brought under the purview of the proposed Lokpal Bill to check graft. Experts suggest that aiding and abetting an act of bribery should be a provision under which bribe-givers can also be held responsible and accountable for engaging in unethical business practices. Isn’t a bribe-giver equally culpable as is the bribe-taker?
