Hidden Costs

“I purchased a flat from Arihant Superstructures Ltd., a public limited company and one with ISO 9000 certification. The company is now illegally selling the parking space in black and also not giving possession to people who are not willing to pay for the parking in black.”

The future of logic is doomed if we all start behaving the way builders do these days. Considering the new trend that has sparked off in the country where a service such as parking that is supposed to be a part of the apartment deal is sold as separate space. What next?

Here are some analogies to illustrate the absurdity that is beginning to prevail in the private housing sector of our country:

Purchasing a car would mean separately purchasing the steering wheel, paying for the needle in a clock to be able to see what time it is, buying a shirt and paying separately for the buttons, paying for a bus ride but paying more to make the driver stop at your desired destination etc.!

These are as good/ bad/ preposterous as asking buyers of apartments to separately purchase a facility that is more often than not used as bait.

Read this report based on a similar case in Mumbai and the Supreme Courts ruling on the illegal practice followed by almost every builder across the country.
