Your friend is dead? So what, give me my money
Imagine you have lost your friend in a train accident and at that terrible moment of grief, you are confronted with a demand for a petty bribe from officials. What would you do? Cry or curse the world and pay the amount.
Sharing the agony he experienced when he encountered the terrible experience, an individual from Chennai wrote about how his friend succumbed to a train accident on the tracks in 2010. Labourers from the Railway department came to carry the body till the ambulance. They demanded money for performing the chore.
After the post-mortem performed upon the body at the hospital, a woman cop insisted on a payment of Rs 3,000 stating, “We have made this case easy for you.” Friends of the youngster were taken back by the words and the demand but recovered quickly to mobilise the amount and hand it over to her. This was because they had the sensitivity not to intrude into the grief of the parent, an emotion the police clearly lacked.
This incident has caused the youngster so much anguish (http://www.ipaidabribe.com/bribe-central/my-friends-train-accident) that he concluded his write-up by calling upon God to eradicate corruption in the world!
