Bribes taken by babus shake common man
The CBI’s arrest of five IAS officers in connection with the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme is another blot on the bureaucracy.
Our portal is flooded with reports against babus. One of our respondents from Bangalore had to pay Rs. 50 Lakhs to an IAS officer in Bangalore Development Authority for allocating land in spite of the candidate being selected on merit http://ipaidabribe.com/bribe-central/bda-commisioner-takes-bribe-rs-50lakhs-land-allotment-instead-merit-selection
This is not the end of the story. In an another incident, a corporate concern had to pay a bribe of Rs. 6,00,000 to an IAS officer in Water Supply and Sewerage department of Lucknow to clear a pending file
According to information received through the Right to Information Act by an Indian national magazine, over 65 IAS officers have been charged by the CBI for corruption since 1991. One-fourth of such cases have been dropped. Over a dozen cases are pending in the court against the officers.
At a time when India is reeling under corruption scams, some justice will be served to the common man by punishing the dishonest IAS officers.
