What about my cut ?
While travelling with my wife from Ahmedabad to Jaipur, I had got my sleeper class berths confirmed, but 3TAC berths were waitlisted till 2 days before travel and so I got the latter cancelled. While in the train, I found two 3TAC berths were vacant. I offered to pay the difference in fare for upgrading to 3TAC. TTE said, "Thats OK, but what about my cut?". I told him that if it would have been auto-upgrade, I would have travelled in 3TAC without extra charges, and so he should be thankful that government would earn extra money. I politely refused to pay a bribe and travelled in little discomfort, while TTE moved ahead looking for a "real customer".
