Educated Bribe Mongers!
When I receive a quote for setting up a new company, the CAs (three different firms) send me their quotes. One clearly breaks up the various registrations required to get a company up and running and costs, time-lines and MISCELLANEOUS exp clearly mentioned alongside the others. This was clearly laid out for Co. Name registration, Co. Registration, VAT Registration, PT Reg and others like DIN, TAN & so on. It is accepted misc exp for some but for others such as Co. Reg, VAT, PT it is clearly verbally indicated as BRIBE for the Officers. To my question 'why the payment?' no valid answers are returned by my CA. I can't blame him coz he is bound by the officers power harassment at the relevant organisations. Since, I have to start a company I need these mandatory registrations and this forces me to pay the monies without bills in return. This puts-off an aspiring entrepreneur like me and surely discourages many others who dream of becoming one.
I am ashamed of being a citizen of such a corrupt nation; moreover being unable to voice against it in an effective manner. I wish I owned some guns!
Perhaps, the whole system needs a restructuring and it begins surely at the top political leaders level from the social perspective. It reminds me of CAs response to my complaints against corruption 'sir, it is in our (Indians) blood. if some improvements come about, you'd have grey or bald head by then'. I wish initiatives like yours makes some difference some day.
I wish to be a proud citizen of a corruption-free nation.
