Hi,
This is about my bribe which i pay to autos every weekends.Almost every weekend i travel in Autos in bangalore.whenever i call for auto,they will demand the excess fare of 30 or 40 rupees,sometimes they wont turn on the meters,somestimes even in the daytimes they will demand almost 50% extra.This may appear small bribe, think about the people who travells regualrly.Recently there was a program launched in bangalore to avoid "Auto" on that day. It is good begining, but even after that i found not even a minute change in the behaviour of the auto guys.sometimes we may feel whatever we are paying is little money(This is the general thought what IT people have in mind).Think about the people who travells regualrly and common man.I think we need to stop this growing menace.Even though there is a rule to convert all the mechanical meters to be converted to digital meters, there is no implementation so far.We need to bring lot of awareness among the people.We need to bring a mechanism in such a way that there should be a toll free number which people can access to contact or sms the auto details when there is faulty meters or when they demand more money.So that motor vehicles department can keep a tab on this vehicles and they need to ensure that the meters are tamperproof and they need to seize the vehicle if the drivers are doing the same thing repeatedly.If someone can address this issue,bangalore people will be happy and their vows will be sorted.We would be greatful to the officials who will act on this.
