Paid bribe to get my vehicle register

I had to pay a bribe of about 5000 Rs to the ARTO Bangalore East on 10th March 2010 to get my vehicle registered. I was asked pay this amount cos my vehicle summed to 9 which i was told was on high demand. I had no other option other than paying the amount. I was told that these rates were revised a week back i.e., end of Feb and beging of March. The same would have costed me about 1500 - 2000 Rs in Feb. Call it day light robbery. Guess this is the same with all RTOs. Imagine the amount they make.. Wish these corrupt people are caught.
