It occurred in Lanka police station Varanasi (28-10-2014).The officer(Mr. Pandey, mob:09454802467 ) in charge of police verifications straight away demanded Rs.3000 to get my verification done.His voice carried no hesitation and was loud and adamant.I was taken by surprise as i never expected this huge amount to be paid as bribe and the blatant way of demanding it .Nevertheless,i waited 3 days before i paid him Rs.2000 after a negotiation.
I FELT AGGRIEVED AND HELPLESS AS I WAS TOLD THAT IT IS THE SYSTEM THAT IS FOLLOWED .BESIDES, I DOUBT ANY ACTION WOULD BE TAKEN AGAINST THESE OFFICERS, IF AT ALL I AM TO REPORT THE INCIDENT . IS THERE ANY SENIOR OFFICER I CAN TRUST?
