200 for 1000

Reported on March 11, 2011 from Gurgaon , Haryana  ι Report #32412

I just headed to my way in my car towards my home from my office when at the first crossing my cell phone rang. I saw who is calling and since I was pretty much on the left side of the road, I just picked up to say that "I call you back". In the meantime, traffic policeman stopped me. He said he will file challan or I should pay a small amount of 300/-. According to him Challan fine would be Rs. 2000/- plus many visits to court. But I resisted and asked him to file challan. On the challan paper besides the place where you have to sign there is a note saying "any observations" where I tried to put my remarks but he forcedly grabbed the paper from me. Finally I paid the challan for Rs.1000 in a traffic police office where there was no judge but a constable who processed it in his PC and gave me the reciept.

What's your reaction?
