The experience with the cops was hopeless. I did file a lost report the next day but not in Cubbon Park police station, but at Ulsoor police station. The Auto guys are terrible as well. Just to suck up with the cops, they were all excited to punch as well. It was like a gems for them. Somehow, I feel the cops, bouncers and auto guys are all connected. They know when is their opportunity to rip off and who's the target. What sad is that this overall reflects on the violence in the society. I have traveled to quite a few poor countries in Asia and South America, but you never see this kind of thing frequently. Every weekend you see how the cops behave around Brigade/MG road. What is the need to enforce curfew? And the way people of NE are treated. If people are drinking and violating rules, fine them, why go on hitting people and chase them? Looks very uncivilized and this does not and should not happen in any societies. Even in countries that have strict rules(dictators) these kind of uncilivized behavior is not seen. There is no respect for human values. Treatment of women is another disturbing fact in India. For instance, India rates as one of the worst places for women to live. Way below several war torn countries. There is a huge gender inequality issue and that needs to be addressed first at grassroots levels. But its not just men who cause violence against women, its women as well.
