Disability Pension
Times of India carried an article on 21st September 2010, about Postal employees asking for money from each beneficiary. I responded to the article. - There is a deeper malice to this problem. Not only the postmen are playing truant, but, getting the pension sanctioned, is a big racket. I am a disabled man & have applied for pension, to Tehsildar office, in Greenways road, on 5th June 2010, which they said, they have lost it. Again on their request, submitted again, on 19th June 2010. Now, it is nearly 3 months, but, i am still to receive, any intimation. One, they do not want us to visit them and follow up. Two, they refuse to give any acknowledgment. Postmaster General is right in saying, some people not eligible, are also receiving pension, as this office releasing pension to many persons who come through, a lady, who is wife of a driver of an MLA. One of the beneficiary is our maid servant, who is neither handicapped or eligible for Old Age Pension. Finally, i got pension in January this year after we approached the District Collector. More over the new CM has shifted the pension disbursement to banks, from September this year to stop this malice. I stii pay Rs.20/-, for each transaction, out of Rs.500/- pension.
