I didnot bribe to release my PF amount.
It was 1965 I had resigned from CPWD. My P.F balance was to be released by a Ag's memo. It was valid for 6 months. The cashier wantenly did not put up with treasury for encashment.Hence the validity was expired. I went to A.G's office and got a second memo for payment. That also he lapsed it. Third time I went to AG's office when they have advised me to get the payment otherwise no more memo of payment advice would be issued. Two months had elapsed. I wrote a RPAD letter to the executive engineer insisting for early payment. The cahier had put up a letter and the E.E had signed it saying the memo was sent to District treasury for payment. Luckily I knew the treasury officer and when I had refered the matter he wanted a letter with references of the AG's memo No.Dt .etc. I sent a letter and I got a prompt reply that no such memo was received by the treasury. With this as records I wrote to the Home Ministry (Mr.Gulzarilal Nanda Was the H.M). He had forwarded that letter to Urban development Ministry enquiring any dept. is functioning at Coimbatore? Then the Superintending Engineer rushed to Coimbatore and conducted an enquiry and placed the cashier under supension pending detailed enquiry and released my payment. I was honest during my service in the Dept.then I felt why should I bug the cashier for the release of P.F amount which was my legitimate claim.Through out my life I resisted to give bribe and I was successful. Only thing you require patience and with proper records you can pin down the corrupt *******
