In 1986 MODVAT was introduced.Excise inspector asked Rs.500 for approval of MODVATable raw materials. I refused which I had to regret.I had to go to appeal,tribunal & finally supreme court to fight the case.

Conclusion is that at higher level in excise there are lesser chances of your winning the case.
