Kadugodi traffic police towed my bike, would not provide a receipt.

Reported on April 6, 2018 from Bangalore , Karnataka  ι Report #180893

It was 9.00pm at Hope farm signal in Whitefield Bangalore. I had parked my bike in front of A2b restaurant and had gone in to buy food. It was apparently a no parking zone. When I was still buying food, Kadugodi traffic police came and towed away a bunch of two wheelers and a car from that lot.

Knowing what has happened, I then rushed to Kadugodi police station where my bike was towed.

Many bike owners had already arrived and found them negotiating with a person named Gopi who was with the tow truck. He was not wearing a uniform but he vehemently insisted to let go all the bike owners for 500 rupees and would not provide a receipt. With receipt the fine amount was 750.

He was speaking in kannada which I did not understand fully. The traffic police in uniform was seated in the office and he too said the same thing. It seemed like all men were consorts and the whole event was an organized drive.

I insisted for receipt but they didn't provide one. Instead they took 500 rupees in the end and asked me to just leave.

Since I couldn't speak in Kannada, I couldn't do much about it and ended up leaving.

What's your reaction?
