Mysore Trip from Kerala

Reported on April 8, 2013 from Kochi , Kerala  ι Report #34376

On April 6th 2013 i arranged a travel to Mysore with my family from Kerala in my Kerala Registration car which is just 8 months old. . One the way Karnataka Police stopped us for over speeding when i was traveling at 57 km/hr at a place called Madapura. When enquired i was told the stretch is a 30 km/hr zone. I did not see any speed limit on the way. 1st Bad experience. I paid 300 rs fine.

On 7th April 2013 on my return via Gundalupet, again i was stopped for nothing. To my surprise he charged the following, 1) Not having Original RC - 1000 Rs , No Pollution certificate for 8 months old car - 700 Rs, No Seat belt ( Which was wearing ) - 1000 Rs. Total 2000Rs. He asked me to pay 500 or leave vehicle there when i have a family with me inside the car. Here i was totally shocked how brutally these Karnataka Police treat tourists from different state. I asked then for bill, but they are not ready to give. Finally i ended up paying 500 Rs and he wrote something on the RC book xerox copy which was attested.
I stay Anonymous because i have family. I do not know what these so called Police can do to me. Sorry.

I feel so ashamed and pity on Karnataka Police Department.
