Passport Verification came as Pending

I was a student at a private college in Chennai and during passport verification, a Police officer had called me to police station at 5:00AM. He asked me whether I am an Indian. I showed him whatnot including PAN Card. He was expecting bribe from me but I did not offer any. After three months, my passport came as unverified.
