Rs200 demanded for Aadhar Enrolment

Reported on February 27, 2016 from Mumbai , Maharashtra  ι Report #94113

I went for Aadhar Enrollment at Maha-E-Seva-Kendra at G/2, Ajit Nagar, Near Jankalyan Bank, J B Nagar, Andheri East, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400059. After all the process has been done, they demanded Rs.200/- per enrolment. When I argued that it should be free of cost, they said its not government office, it private and the enrollment is chargeable. I said fine, then please provide a receipt of the same, I am ready to pay the fees along with the service tax. But they denied the receipt and said that If the enrollment has to be processed, please pay or else leave. I didnt pay, so they didn give the EID number and cancelled the enrollement.

Over to that they also demanded Rs300/- for an affidavit for my Wife. My wife had a valid voter id. But on PAN card the name is still the old name. They said the PAN CARD cannot be accepted with old name, so you have to give an affidavit for which Rs.300/- to be paid.

I have enquired with the customer care centre, they said enrollment is free of charge and Voter ID can be accepted as POI and POA.

Aadhar is the project which was initiated to curb the corruption in India, but the project itself is corrupted.
