You're not getting a reciept kid!!
Yes, it was my mistake, that I did not check before parking my vehicle. As responsible citizens, my parents always made sure that none in the family fell pray to corruption.
If we make a mistake, we should take the punishment honestly, that is what my family stressed all the time.
Due to this, when my vehicle was caught in the wrong place, and was taken to a chowki, I was ready to pay the amount and take the proper reciept stating the amount taken for causing inconvenience and violating rules and so on.
Funny but true, when I bravely opted for this, the authority told me that I could pay less and take no reciept!!
I felt embarassed...for so many years I had sung the national anthem, admired police and soldiers, respected the nation saying 'Mera ********** Mahan'...
What happened to all that? Is this the real face of my country?
I was sure I did not want to be a part of this dirty thing called corruption...
I waited for a higher authority to come to office, paid the full amount and took the reciept.
I wish this never happens to anyone. Firstly we should not encourage it, and secondly no official should himself or herself promote such practice.
