I had a certificate issued at time of birth (1981) from Jharia Mines
I had a certificate issued at time of birth (1981) from Jharia Mines Board of Health. I also have the details in my SSC certificate (ICSE Board). Today I went to Dhanbad Court More to get a fresh copy of Birth certificate. One of the officials asked to get a Affidavit (self) which I got from a lawyer (ones sitting under plastic sheets and chewing pan!). I attached self attested copies of SSC certificate, Birth certificate issued by Jharia Mines Board of Health and address proof. When I submitted at SDO office, one person said it is now online (lazy lady sitting in the office adjoining to the SDO). I tried speaking to SDO but his bodyguards did not allow me to speak to him, I again went back to the office and asked a Sr. official who said since it was issued by Jharia Health dept so I should go there. I went to the Jharia Mines board who said they were not aware of the procedure and I need to submit at SDO. When I mentioned that I was sent here from SDO they did not entertain. I again went back to SDO office (he had still not returned from lunch by then despite over 90 mins). I went to the same official who sent me to Jharia Mines Health Board. This time he said he does not know process and cant help.
So basically I spent 7 hrs of my time running around and spending money to get affidavit and bear the lackluster attitude of Jharkhand govt. officials and still I could not submit the doc since NO ONE knew the process.
Now I plan to call the SDO (provided his online listed no. is correct) and hope for a resolution.
