I was in **********, Tamilnadu, My home town for registration of my apartment which I bought recently. The Apartment Registration itself was taken care by the builder but the Bank(Nationalized) have asked for Mortgage Agreement to be registered. So I was in the registration office with all documents in proper order. But still the Supervisor was looking at my face expecting something. Then he showed his hand pointing the office attendant. I was forced to give INR 300 there. Then luckily I saw my classmate's mother working in that office. I had another work of getting Certificate of Encumberence (EC) from the same office. So I asked about the procedure and she made some estimate and asked me to pay INR 500 and told me to come next day. I went the next day, the receipt given to me was only for INR 200. The remaining INR 300 is their service charges (bribe). Though the lady was known to me but still the government employees maintain their ethics and get bribe. That is the situation of Today's India. Even if GOD wants to get some work done in Government Office, they get money from him inside the office and return back to him in the temple (hundial).
