I am into Construction business in South Delhi. We were constructing a building in Safdarjung Enclave, therefore the concerned authority personnel would come to my site every month all from different departments (Health, Public Administration, Sanitation and Engineering Department) amounting to Rs.55,000/ per month in lieu "of their support." The worst part is that they used to charge me with a right as if I'm committing a mistake my building a house. Once the officer threatened me to file a complaint against me as i was late that particular month to pay him bribe and eventually he did so and i had to go to the Municipal court to pay the fine. Henceforth, he came to my site next week asking for money when i refused he threatened me to repeat his act once again. I had no other option to pay him then. When asked about it, he officer said he has no option or else his seniors will scould him and even deduct money from his salary!!
It felt really sad that by doing the work as per rules still we have to pay money for less harassment.
