I was called by the official on Tuesday night and he asked me to visit the police station the next day for passport verification. I visited the next day but I forgot to take the documents with me so I was asked to return the next day. Unfortunately, I had board exam yesterday so he asked me to visit him on Friday(today).
I filled all the details on the form and answered his questions. After that he asked me to take xerox of some papers and then said that my application is complete except for the fees. I took the xerox and returned to the police station. He took the xerox and then asked me to pay the fees. Since he kept referring to the amount as 'fees', I thought it was legal and handed him the money. It was only after coming home and checking the internet that I realized that what he took from me was bribe.
Of course, I have no evidence or but yeah, I do want to report it. So far, this is the only place I found. I'm still looking up for the right officials to report it to, though so any help in that regard is appreciated.
