After death of my father I had to get a Survival Certificate issued from SDM office. After few days of submitting application at SDM office, an officer came home for verification. Luckily or unluckily I was still at home, as he had arrived without prior intimation. I produced necessary documentation, proofs and neighbour's witnesses. After I satisfactorily met the requirements, to my utter surprise, the fellow shamelessly asked for bribe for approving the application. He gave stories of how people have to wait months and applications are rejected. I am unable to put this incident out of my mind and still frustrated that I PAID *******
