Defined rates as per doc for FIR

Reported on April 5, 2011 from Pune , Maharashtra  ι Report #9927

I lost my wallet & went to file the missing / FIR report, was surprised when i was told the rates for documents. Driving license - 200, PAN card- 200, Insurance cards - 100, Credit Card - 100 each & so on, the bill came out around 1000 bucks. What for? Mind you, filing a missing report.

When i said what is this money for, i was talked rudely with( thankfully i was fine with it) & was told if you are not ready to pay, then go to traffic police HQ somewhere inside Pune city and get us a report, then we'll go ahead. Who would want that?

Ok, now comes the bargaining power which was learned from environment. I started with 200 , he said go away i have so much work, "are dikhta nahin hai mujhe kitna kaam hai, itney loog wait kar rahe hain" (Believe me there was no one :). Then i raised the bar to 300 again the same reply but he allowed me to stand, "nahin hooga" chalo 800 de do. I tried playing around(as it was a direct attack on my ability to negotiate:) "Sir, main to laaya hi 400 hoon , dekh lo. Ok the deal was finalized for 500, done pakka. "Haan baitho" ! Finally the page was given to me with all the details and i had a xerox, the guy took original and gave me xxerox :(.

So ppl this was my story!

Just before finishing, i got call from a gentleman in evening that he has found the wallet and this guy came and gave back it to me, with not even a single thing touched! Must say my day with extremes of *******

What's your reaction?
