Wow this last year I have not been able to anything in India without paying a bribe. From my marriage certificate, to registering property. From 5,000 to a 140,000!!!! With the threat that if I did not pay the bribe it would take 4 years to sort out my property papers and a case put on it so it would also cost Lakhs and Lakhs so sort it out! I have paid 30,000 bribes over the last five months for a survey on my property but still have no survey.
I would love to not pay any of this but get pushed into doing it by threats from the officials, and becaus I am not educated as to my rights. The corruption runs so ********** there is no chance to find any honest government worker!
