Paid amount to Railway police to take my bike

I transported my bike from Bangalore to Delhi in Indian Railway. After my bike reached Railway station, to take my bike out. Railways police man requested to give Rs.200 as bribe. I am not finding any reason why I need to pay for this. After 40mins of discussion, I just paid this amount and took my bike. Even though I follow all the legal thing to transport my bike.
