Hi, purchased a new plot and we need to transfer the khata from old owner to our name. We went to BBMP office and paid the taxes and asked for khata transfer. The office said he will do, he called us after one week and he took 500 bucks for filling up the form, which was genuine as 500 is government fees. After week when I went to office, he showed me the khata paper and said your work is donw, and now pay our fees. I said already gave you Rs. 500 , wat other fees you are asking, he said fees for the work he did to transfer the khata. I said I have few hundred, he said not hundreds, it cost 1000's, I frankly asked how much you want, he said 4500..........I was shocked.........well, we were in urgent need of the paper, hence I went home, took some money from my mother, from my brother and from my saving and paid the bribe..........I am reporting this issue because I feel very guilty to pay and also always I am keep reminding about that incident.........I feel very helpless in such scenario........I was in confusion, where ever I went they said pay the money and get it. I am not so strong to fight with this system, hence I decided to pay the bribe. This guilty feeling made me to report this incidence.
