On applying in person at the GHMC for transfer of name, all seemed clean and I submitted my documents and was told there would be an inspection and once cleared, the name change certificate issued. When the official came to inspect, I was told I needed to pay twice the existing property tax from now and if I was to pay as per this rule, the reassessment would be indefinitely long. The choice offered was a payment to "clear" the file immediately. Am ashamed to say I took the easy way out and paid. The new documents are now in hand.
