CBI arrests DDA officer for taking bribe
New Delhi, April 4 (IANS) The CBI on Wednesday arrested a senior officer of the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) for receiving bribe for allotting a flat.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) registered a case under section 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code and various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act against DDA Principal Commissioner J.P. Aggarwal and three private persons identified as Sunil Gupta, Anil Gupta and J.P. Sharma, a statement said.
"During investigation, Aggarwal, Sunil and Anil Gupta were apprehended while transacting bribe amount of Rs 4 lakh for showing undue favour by Aggarwal in the matter of allotment of flat," the CBI statement said.
Sharma was also apprehended subsequently. All four were later arrested.
The CBI said it was conducting searches at the residential and official premises of the accused as the investigation was still on.
