64 years of my life has been Bribe free. I have paid a bribe only once to the sub registrar, when I bought a residential plot.
Once I went to a sub registrar in Nasik with my share certificates of my bunglow in Deolali for registration. A clerk told me to come after six months after submitting my documents. Then I walked inside the office of the sub registrar and asked him whether the procedure takes that much time.
In those days only military people used to wear the helmet while driving motor cycle. Then one could recognize the person riding is a military officer. I too did the same trick, even though I was out of defence services. In a minute my work was done!
Now a days, even if I go as a General in uniform, the sub registrar will be least bothered. Well, he will say, " Shriman line me khade raho aur saath me crisp currency rakho".
Look at the degradation of an Army officer. We are in this stage as we have lost our honour and integrity.
