Bribe for PUC *******
Few years ago when I was riding on my bike near Pune university, I was pulled over by a traffic police to see my PUC. Unfortunately it had expired just a day before. I tried to explain that to him. I told him it was a latest 4 stroke bike and he first needs to check all the truck and rickshaws on the road for PUC before even he thinks about checking new bikes/cars. I told him I will get it done right away the moment I see a PUC station and then get back to him. But he did not agree. He gave me an open offer to pay him Rs. 100. I said no way I was going to do that. He said if he had to make a receipt, he would make it for Rs. 200. Then he also brought down his offer to Rs. 50. But I paid him the entire amount and took the receipt. This was not my first experience. Majority of traffic police are so corrupt, arrogant, and cheap that they would sell their sole for Rs. 10. Makes me sad to see what's happening to our society.
