Once I was travelling from Dehradun to Roorkey by my personal car. Between the two cities there is police check post. That day regular checking was being conducted. They were stopping almost every vehicle on the road. A red Tavera of DL number was also being checked beside me. the Tavera was full of boys of age around 20-25. They had 5 cartons of beer bottles in the car. Police caught them. There were four senior policemen(except havaldars) there. Two were checking and other two were sitting inside the adjoining cabin. The two checking were talking in a very coercive manner to the boys and threatening them of throwing into jail. One or two of them got slapped. After a series of apologetic words from the boys the two cops sent them into the cabin where two other cops were waiting for them. They seemed to be very humble. They pampered all the boys and gave them a lecture on not transporting alcohol and blah blah blah. When the boys became comfortable one of the cops demanded a bribe of ten thousands. The boys did bargaining with them. By bargaining the pampered voice of the two policemen became authoritative and they started threatening them of seizing their car and inform their parents. All of the boys checked their wallets and they summed up with around seven thousand. The policemen not only took seven thousands but also all the cartons of beer and released them..
