A "Fee" of Rs 20,000 for every registry of flat
We recently purchased a flat with AP ********** Colonizers Sector 20 Panchkula. Property called Platinum Heights. For registration, they informed us that a bribe of Rs 20,000 is the going rate for every flat to be given to the Registrar ( Tehsildar) currently one Mr ******* ********** Dhillon at Derabassi. We categorically told the builder that we wont pay anything over and above the fair and square price.
Now, when we were getting the papers ready with the lawyer, the lawyer added Rs 20,000 as a fee to the estimate. We refused. He said , "deal with the registrar yourself". We were blatantly questioned that why the "fee" was not paid. We did not answer, but were told that being an army officer it is okay to not pay that.
2 days after the registry we received a call from the office of the Commisioner, Ropar - who looks after a group of districts, asking why we did not the "fee" and we must do it soon
