I didn't pay bribed of 2000/- to Custom Officer
I was returning to India on 3rd August from Saudi Arabia. I bought the Samsung LED TV..so after collecting baggage, The Custom officer come towards me and first took my passport. after I scanned the bagage from X-********** machine..He asked me about what is in my bag..I told him, there is laptop and camera which are used one. He told me that you have to pay duty for Samsung LED TV as only 25,000/- worth good is only permissible and you have to outside of country for atleast 2 days. He started calculating the duty and told me that I have to pay around 2800/- as duty..So I told him that I do not have money so he told me there is ATM in airport you can withdraw from there.so he called one the Police person who was standing on the get and told him that take 2000/- from me and let me go.. When I heard that he is asking for 2000/- rupees I prefer to pay the duty rather than paying him bribe. I withdraw money and told him that I want to pay duty..He got nervous and prepared the duty receipt.. I usually do not pay bribed and most of the time, I will pay more money as fine rather than paying bribr to anyone.
