I refused to pay a bribe as a result of which an adverse report was submitted

Reported on February 24, 2017 from Faridabad , Haryana  ι Report #154720

As we are all aware that a police verification of one's current address is required as a part of the process of making of a passport. Similarly, I was also asked to visit my local police station and a form was handed out to me by the concerned police officer. My local police station being Sarai Police Station in Dictrict Faridabad, Haryana and the concerned police officer being one Mr. Mukesh Kumar.

I refused to pay a bribe when indicated for the same. It is not about Rs. 100 or 200. It is about keeping the system clean and why should I be required to pay a bribe in the first place? Is this how our forefathers envisaged our country would be? Shameful.
