It is possible not to pay a bribe and get property registered at Koramangala BDA Registration office
Registered a property on behalf of my brother without paying a bribe at the Koramangala BDA registrar. It took us 2 hours, but no reason to believe anyone deliberately delayed the process. The last guy in the value chain politely said people generally give something, but I just smiled and walked away. None of the officials demanded a bribe to get the job done. Leads me to believe in the case of property registration, builders and citizens offer even if not demanded either to circumvent the process (and I agree the process is neither clear nor prima facie sensible) or to regularise violations of law. Grateful to IPAB for connecting me to a bribe fighter who gave us confidence that is is indeed possible to get a property registered without paying a bribe, when the builder and relatives led us to believe otherwise. It's a good feeling at the end of the day!
