Mumbai Customs issued Custom House Licence after 23 Years & I received one without paying Bribe
Last year in the month of August Mumbai Custom issued Public Notice inviting elligible candidates to apply for Customs licence , on 5 th June '2012 , it declared names of 111 candidates eligible to collect the Custom House Agents Licence . Unfortunately my name was missing .I was issued deficiency memo which stated that my application was kept aside due to CID NOC not received .
I approached CID office where I was told that there was no adverse report in my name but the file was not sent ahead because I had not gone to ********** them . I could understand their language , but pretended to be ignorent than they openly told me that there was other members of Rule 8 Association who had met them earlier & bribed them Rs. 10,000/- per NOC . I very firmly made him understand my firm & I knew as per rules they have to complete my file within a stipulated time or I could go on a higher level. Hearing this the CID NOC was sent to Customs ,
On 09/08/2012 I received a call from Customs that my file was sanctioned & I could collect the same . I felt sad & happy , sad because if CID had done his work on time I could have aso received this LICENCE from the hands of Chief Commissioner on 06/06/2012 Happy because I did it without paying anything to anyone , Its a big message which our people have to understand
