Pass Port for my family

Reported on July 17, 2016 from Bangalore , Karnataka  ι Report #111372

I, Arjun Singh Saini, lived in Bangalore 2006 to 2015 till March, 2015 and mean time I bought my own flat also in White field, since my passport were expiring in next coming month, so I decided to get it renewed in Bangalore because I was having all the necessary required document.
since I, was moving Bangalore to Uttar Pradesh my home town I decided to get pass port for
my wife and two kids also. We filled all the required details on line, paid all the fee and got the scheduled appointment on our nearest passport office on ring road near Marthahalli somewhere in Feb, 10, 2015 every thing goes well and we completed the process.
After one week I got one call from Mahadevpura police station for verification, I reached there on the scheduled time and met with police officer Mr. Sudeep got all the document verified. I was in the impression that the officer will ask some money in lieu of that but I was surprised to see that the officer was so honest that he did not demand even the single penny rather he teat us in very polite manner and told that he will come to my house for address verification.
Next day I got call that one person from police station is coming to my house for verification, so I thought that now definitely he will open his mouth for some bribe, the person came to my house was not Mr. Sudeep but some other officer, he came to my house, did verification of all the documents, we offered him tea coffee but he took only one glass of water and asked us that he would take a leave, I was damn surprised to see that this officer also did not ask not even single rupee and that's how we got all our poss ports delivered to our address.

When I came to UP even my home state and I shared my passport story to my colleague, I was surprised to note that here in UP passport file does move till you pay some thousands of rupee to the designated officer for verification of documents even tough all the documents are genuine.

So moral of the story is that, still there are more honest people in south India.

Thanks,

Arjun Singh Saini
