Politely asking for bribe
I was returning back home from the airport where I had gone to receive a relative of mine. At the silk board junction while coming from the HSR layout I was stopped for reasons unknown. The cop - a constable approached my car and asked me to switch on the lights inside. Then enquired about my name.
Once done he said I can carry on, now comes to the shocker -" Sir, friendly aagi enadru kodododre kodi!" ( Sir, if you wish to give me anything in a friendly manner, please do!) For me this was a first, dont know if this is how these people ask for money nowadays?
It was more like encountering a beggar than a law enforcing officer, deeply shamed but I did refuse to pay him anything and moved on from there.
Is it because these guys dont get paid well? Or is he trying to make a quick buck? I am astonished in the way our society lives and goes about their work.
