Post police verification , after receiving passport

Reported on October 11, 2012 from Bangalore , Karnataka  ι Report #31183

Applied for re-issue passport of my wife for spouse name addition, after marriage in May 2012.The passport process completed smoothly and my wife received the passport in June 2012. After 3 months a policeman appeared at my door. And asked that they need post passport verification. He did not told me what documents to carry. We went the Mico Layout BTM police station. After 2-3 rounds of police station , we get a form containing set of docs, which we submitted. He took the document and took us to another room. And asked to sign at some places. After that he said, the process is done. But he did not asked for anything, bribe sort of. But he was looking at me in such a way that he was expecting something. But since I was not clear , I did not pay him anything.
But I am not sure that, this verification will reach passport office or not, since I have not paid them anything. They have not provided any receipt to track it. And the passport site also do not say anything on this.
Will update if I receive any message or something from passport office.
