Proud of myself today!
My bike was recently towed away and I had to go to the traffic police station to get it back. The fine had come to Rs.300 and a permanent entry would be made against my name. An employee (not a policeman) who supervised the challan process at the station said I could pay him Rs. 100 and he'd release the bike without the interference of the cop, thereby keeping my record clean. But I refused, paid the due amount, took the receipt fair and square. Accepting one's mistake goes a long way in building character. This was my way.
